Ibanez Artcore AS73 Review!
In the history of Ibanez, one of the most famous collections is the Artcore collection.
In terms of purchasing a moderately priced semi-hollow or hollow body, the Ibanez Artcore collection (sometimes called the Artcore series or Ibanez AS Artcore) exceeded many expectations. A warm, full tone, intriguing cosmetic appearance, and affordability are some of the reasons why Ibanez designed the Artcore collection.
With a bound rosewood fretboard, ART-1 bridge, Classic Elite pickups, and chrome hardware, the AS73 Artcore features a set mahogany neck, maple body, double-cutaway body design, and bound rosewood fretboard.
AS73 has a warm, robust tone thanks to its maple semi-hollow body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard. Incorporating the Classic Elite pickups into the AS73 gives it a broad and balanced output.
If this is your first time playing this instrument, spend some time exploring the sound. It’s likely that you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of this guitar.

Ibanez AS73 Artcore: The Playability
The Neck
The neck of the Artcore semi-hollow is very balanced with a flatter radius, which makes long hours of playing very comfortable.
It is recommended by many experienced musicians for beginning electric guitar players to use the AS73. This is because it does not come with a lot of bells and whistles, only three pickup positions.
The Hardware
AS73 electric guitars have excellent tone and volume controls that are loved by most musicians. You can create a completely different sound by slightly adjusting the volume and controls on the AF73; just by doing so, you will create a completely different sound.
While the tones of this instrument are generally mellow, with correct controls, you can create a wide range of sounds.
AS73 Artcore has a Great Value
Those who have played the Gibson 335 guitar will also enjoy playing the Ibanez AS73. Although the Ibanez AS73 semi-hollow is smaller and lighter than the Gibson 335, these characteristics make it more comfortable to play.
Guitar necks are extremely comfortable to play, especially if your hands aren’t large; this guitar has a slim profile with surprisingly smooth frets.
Sound of the Ibanez AS73 Artcore
John Scofield, George Benson, and Pat Metheny are just a few of the musicians who use the AS73 as a jazz guitar. Considering the price tag of the AF73 electric guitar, you can expect it to produce a wide variety of tones. A very warm, expressive tone is produced by this instrument.

Ibanez AS73 – Pickups
The pickups on this semi-hollow guitar are extremely responsive, and the intonation is very good for a semi-hollow guitar at this level. Our experience with this instrument indicates that higher gauge strings sound much better than light gauge strings, simply because lighter gauge strings sound twangier.
The AS73’s pickups were not of very high quality and more experienced musicians typically upgraded to better pickups.
Those with years of experience found that turning up the volume knob above five made the neck pickup sound very mushy, and the bridge pickup sound very crackly.
As a result of switching to better-quality pickups, these experienced musicians were able to explore the AS73’s full potential.
Last Words
This is an excellent build, and the craftsmanship is superb as well. While we were concerned about the pickups, it does have a nice sound at quieter levels. Although the hardware is basic, it is more than adequate, and the controls are well-made and accurate. This guitar offers excellent value for the price.
As a result of writing this Ibanez AS73 Artcore Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar Review, we have gained a greater appreciation for this fine instrument. An excellent choice for beginners and starters. A few adjustments will make it great for an experienced player.
Although it does not come with a case or gig bag, we consider these issues to be minor. The fitted case is sold separately.
Ibanez semi-hollow electric guitars are quality instruments that are worth every penny.
